Icehotel

Situated in Jukkasjärvi in northern Sweden, the Icehotel features rooms entirely made out of sculptured ice from the neighbouring Torne River. Warm rooms are also offered. A bookable sauna experience featuring a sauna, wood-burning hot tub and ice bath is available for a fee.

Holding a temperature between -5 to -8 degrees Celsius, the individually themed cold rooms include hand-carved ice furnishings by international artists. Guests sleep in thermal sleeping bags on beds covered in reindeer hides. In the morning, guests can enjoy the shared sauna. All warm rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels, dining area, and a private bathroom equipped with a shower. Free WiFi is offered in all rooms.

The on-site Icehotel restaurant serves traditional dishes with locally produced ingredients. Guests can relax with hot drinks and snacks in the warm lounge, or enjoy cocktails served in glasses made out of ice in the below-freezing Icebar.

Guests can enjoy a complimentary entrance ticket to the Icehotel. The area around the property is popular for outdoor winter activities such as dog sledding, reindeer sled excursions, and snowmobile tours. What was the highlight of Icehotel
Altogether pleasant.
The room, bedding particulalry, was comfortable. I had a nice chat with their bartender, and the Northern Lights photography evening was excellent.
One of the excursions I scheduled was cancelled (not their fault--too few people interested) and the refund is very slow in coming, while they asked for payment for another excursion twice after arrival when I had paid before arriving. The first time was just a confusion, but the second was an annoyance since I thought I had already cleared it up. Just a bad combination of things.

What was the highlight of Icehotel
Wonderful stay in Ice hotel. Highly recommend.
The staff are friendly especially Abba. The breakfast is good. I like the complimentary access to Ice Hotel that we enjoyed alot. The rooms are cozy with heated floors. The staff arranged parking for our motorhome near our cabin so we can accessed easily and also charged the motorhome just beside the cabin. It was a wonderful stay.

What was the highlight of Icehotel
Exceptional
Saw the northern lights! And falling snow - what more can I add! Walking distance from the outdoor Sami Museum- really walking distance as i have sciatica and lower back pain and i managed it in heavy snow boots. . We went down there twice as the people there were so welcoming. We made sami flat bread over a roaring fire one day and went back for lunch the next day, highly recommended.
Being the very beginning of the autumn season, there were very few activities available. We were told that the ice sculpting class "was fully booked" however it wasn't even running. I think it would be better to be up front about it.

They don’t clean the rooms and if you need toilet paper or more coffee you need to go and ask for it. They also don’t have an open restaurant the entire day
